Windows 7 Math Input Panel- Write Math Equations Easier

I recall when I was still in primary and secondary school, or even in college- sometimes I kept on complaining during exams. You think why? Try reading this equation:

x= (-b±√b*2-4ac)/2a

If your knowledge can’t deal great with Algebra, you won’t immediately recognize the equation above as a Quadratic Formula. How worse if you are given more complicated equations? Like on the other field in the world of math. Tell me if you didn’t keep on asking… (just kidding). Not until those equations are written on Math Input Panel that come with Windows 7.

Math Input Panel is one of the accessories built into Windows 7, together with the sticky notes, snipping tool, and etc. If you use your computer to solve mathematical problems or to create documents or presentations that have typed mathematical expressions in them, Math Input Panel makes the process easier and more natural. You can use some third-party apps, anyway. I haven’t tried any of them, but Windows 7 Math Input Panel will be my first choice.

Math Input Panel uses the math recognizer to recognize handwritten math expressions on topics like Numbers and Letters, Arithmetic, Calculus, Functions, Sets, Set Theory, Algebra, Combinatorics, Probability and Statistics, Geometry, Vectors and 3D analytic geometry, Mathematical logic, and Applied mathematics. You can then insert the recognized math into a word-processing or computational program.

Taking the equation above as an example, you can see the difference of using Math Input Panel.


You will just use any input device like touch-screen, external digitizer, or even mouse like what I did- then the equation you wrote will appear on the preview area (white background). Now, you can insert the recognized math equation into a word-processing or computational program. The equation is more presentable this time. If you create documents or presentations that involves math equations, this Windows 7 tool will gonna help you… Try it by going to the Accessories folder on the Start Menu. Without any doubt, you would definitely like it!
